Top 3 Lunch Spots in Lee’s Summit

The city of Lee’s Summit is full of great restaurants, cafes, and diners. We all have our favorite spot to grab coffee, or meet friends for brunch on the weekend. But what about lunch? With work and busy schedules all too often this essential meal gets replaced by a granola bar or a pitiful sandwich. These three irresistible local Lee’s Summit lunch restaurants will get you excited about eating lunch again.

The Fig Treelunch restaurants

This cozy family-oriented diner is a true Lee’s Summit original. They serve both American comfort food and Middle Eastern specialties. So whether you’re in the mood for a Reuben sandwich or shawarma the friendly staff at the Fig Tree will have something to satisfy your lunch craving. The restaurant’s owners make using locally-sourced, fresh, and organic products a priority, which means that when you go here for lunch you’re supporting more than one local business. Despite its location in a strip mall, the Fig Tree is full of local charm not often found in such locales. We highly recommend one of their daily homemade bakery specials, or their delicious hummus appetizer platter with pita bread and freshly grilled vegetables.

Frankie Farelanes Fast(ish) Food

This casual local lunch spot is one of Lee’s Summit’s latest restaurant additions. Located in the charming old downtown area, this newly opened lunch joint is an offshoot of another more established Lee’s Summit restaurant, Stuey McBrew’s. Frankie’s differentiates itself from Stuey’s by focusing on classic, quick street foods like tacos, wings, and sliders. However, don’t let the “fast” theme make you think this charming local restaurant is comparable to a Taco Bell. They are committed to using fresh, hormone-free ingredients, so you can feel good about what you’re eating. Their interior is modern and sleek, with stainless steel and wood details throughout the space. So, grab your coworkers and head over for a fast(ish) and delicious lunch at Frankie Farelanes.

Ginger Sue’s

Ginger Sue’s is a locally and family-owned breakfast and lunch cafe. After opening their first location in Liberty in 2007, owners David Bradley and Ginger Fuller later opened their Lee’s Summit branch. They strive to create a friendly atmosphere where people can come together for a good meal and good conversation. At Ginger Sue’s, you are always able to “Eat Among Friends,” just like the restaurant’s motto proclaims. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, with plenty of open space and natural light pouring in. Wondering about their food? They have a fabulous selection of omelets, including the unique Aloha Awakea Omelette, which is made with pineapple, ham and cheddar-jack cheese with toasted coconut. We also recommend the Salmon Salad, which features a sautéed salmon fillet on a bed of fresh greens, red onion, red pepper, cucumber, carrots and crumbled goat cheese with a house-made balsamic vinaigrette.
