Sunny Day Skin Care Tips

Sunny Day Skin Care Tips

We long for warm, sunny days all winter long to boost our mood and get us some much-needed vitamin D. However, once the sunny days are here, they can really damage our skin. Spring and summer are the prime traveling seasons so, it is likely you might be outside in a different type of climate than your skin is used to. Whether the sunniness comes along with humid or dry air, there is some information and a few precautions that should be taken.

For Dry Areas

Places like deserts, mountains, and buildings blasting A/C (like hotels or the office) will suck the moisture out of your skin pretty quickly. Stay hydrated. If you are in a busy office all day working, set a reminder to get water or keep a water bottle with you. Apply moisturizer morning and night, preferably one that contains glycerin and petrolatum. These ingredients will draw moisture to the top layer of your skin and keep it there while preventing it from escaping as well.

For Humid Areas

Humid places commonly cause people’s skin to become oily and sweaty. The oil and sweat mix with the impurities your skin contacts throughout the day to clog your pores. Acne and blackheads could become annoying issues due to this. The key is to remember to cleanse in the morning and evening with a cleanser that removes grime and makeup without over-drying your skin. If your skin is usually oily or shiny, apply a toner right after cleansing then use an oil-free moisturizer.

Remember that any problems you have with your skin while in temporary spaces, so don’t panic. As soon as you have your sunny skin care routine down, your beautiful self will shine on.
